Connect with nature in this allergy-friendly craft. Your kiddo can practice fine motor skills as they scoop apples and fill them with critter seeds, creating a tasty treat for their furry friends! 1. Prepare your unflavored gelatin according to the package. You'll want to use 1/4 cup of water for every packet of gelatin. 2. Once your gelatin mixture has cooled, mix in 1 cup of seed for every packet you use.
3. Prepare your apples by scooping out the center with a spoon. Make sure to keep your stem intact at the top.
3. Spoon your seed mixture inside of your apples and place them on a baking sheet before putting them in the refrigerator.
4. Allow your mixture to set for about two hours. Times may vary based on the gelatin brand.
5. Once set, attach twine or string to the stem of your apple so it hangs upright. Then it's time to find the perfect spot to hang it for squirrel viewing! Notes: 1. One packet of gelatin will fill about 2-3 apples depending on their size. 2. For added fun, you can use a cookie cutter to create shapes on your apples.
3. If your apple is too heavy to hang from the stem, add a screw to the top of your apple and attach your twine to it.Download Now!
