In-Clinic Services

How does in-clinic aba therapy work?

At the initial phase of in-clinic ABA therapy, the therapist focuses on rapport building and allows the learner to explore the clinic environment. At BPI, we take pride in our children wanting to participate and engage in the therapy.

After the child feels comfortable in the environment (including the therapist) and shows interest in some activities or toys, we will systematically teach the child how to communicate his or her needs/wants, respond to instructions/questions, and participate in group activities with peers. At BPI, our primary in-clinic ABA therapy is delivered via our Apple Academy program.

What is special about Apple Academy?

Apple Academy is a unique alternative to traditional preschool special education. It offers individualized programming and a 1:1 staff ratio to maximize learning opportunities for learners ages 2 to 7.

Where a generalized curriculum can lead to autistic children getting lost in the classroom, Apple Academy provides an environment to work on individualized goals that fit their needs to create school readiness–tackling foundational educational skills such as early math, science, reading, and writing in a fun and appropriate way for them.

It is a space where unique minds can thrive and practice socialization with the direct 1:1 support of an autism professional.

Greater Independence: The main goal at Apple Academy is to build a greater sense of independence in each of our learners. There are many smaller goals that allow us to work up to this and those goals will look different for each child. As autistic children become more independent they experience an enhanced quality of life, higher self-esteem, and increased flexibility when in new environments.

Apple Academy works to provide learners with the tools needed to lead more self-sufficient lives in a unique environment designed with their individualized needs in mind.

How can in-Clinic ABA help my child?

In-clinic therapy creates well-structured and systematic opportunities, which may be difficult to facilitate at home. Apple Academy allows learners to practice school readiness and social skills with peers in an alternative schooling environment. Apple Too provides a place for learners to come together after school and continue working on their individualized goals. Each of our programs is created with the unique strengths and needs of the learner in mind!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is ABA Therapy?

ABA is a therapy that focuses on increasing and teaching behaviors that we want to see more of (communication, life skills, play skills, and school readiness) while decreasing challenging behaviors. ABA is supervised by a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) and therapy is conducted by an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician).

Is Apple Academy the only options for in-clinic services?

No, BPI has a range of services that will accomodate learners at various stages of their process.

Can a family have a combination of clinic and home/school services?

Yes! BPI offer both in-clinic and in-home ABA services. During the initial assessment your BCBA will recommend what they think is the best learning environment for your child.

Is there an application process?
