Finding Help When Lost

Share this social story with your autistic child so they know how to seek help from an officer when they get lost.

Finding help when I'm lost
When we go outside, I make sure to stay with an adult from my group.
If I get lost, I need to find a safe adult who will help me find my group. I need to look for a police officer. Police officers may look serious, but they are here to help me get home. I know they are here to help me get home. I know they are officers because of the: uniforms, lights on their cars, and badges. When I go up to the officer, I can tell them "I am lost" or do the sign for "help" if that is easier. The officer may ask for my name, my parents name, and their phone numbers. I can tell them this information or show them my contact card. This will help the officer find my group! I will stay with the police officer and follow their instructions until I am safely reunited with my group. Once I find my group, I will tank the police officer for helping me!Download Now!
