Happy Apple Valentine Bag Get into the Valentine's Day spirit with this cute craft, perfect for school or clinic Valentine's Day parties. Autistic kiddos will bring their Happy Apple card bag to life as they practice fine motor skills through coloring, cutting, and gluing. What you'll need:
- Happy Apple template - download now!
- Small pink or red gift bag
- Construction paper
- Pipe cleaners (optional)
- Tape (optional)
- Markers, colored pencils, or crayons
- Glue
- Scissors Instructions:
1. Print your Happy Apple template. 2. Color the Happy Apple the color of your choice. We recommend pink or red to match the Valentine's Day theme. However, feel free to get creative if you want to choose a different color!
3. Cut out the colored in Happy Apple along the cut lines. Be sure to keep the stem with the rest of the body. Glue the Happy Apple onto the top half of your gift bag.
4. Cut two long strips of construction paper in the color of your choice. If not using pipe cleaners, cut four long strips instead. 5. Fold the strip of construction paper to create an accordion effect with a half-inch block for each fold. Tip: To create an accordion effect, fold about a half inch of the construction paper forward. Then, flip the strip to the back and fold the block forward on that side. Continue to fold and flip until you get the accordion effect. 6. If using pipe cleaners, insert one on each side of the bag by piercing a small hole toward the middle. Pinch the end of the pipe cleaner in the bag and add some tape to ensure the arms of your Happy Apple stay in place. 7. Draw four hearts on your construction paper and cut them out. Glue one heart to one end of each strip. If using pipe cleaners, glue one heart to the end of each arm to create the Happy Apple's hands. 8. Glue the end of the strip that does not have a heart attached to it to the bottom of the bag to form your Happy Apple's legs. If not using pipe cleaners, repeat this step on each side of the bag to create the Happy Apple's arms. Allow the glue to dry before using, and feel free to add additional decorations like hearts, glitter, or stickers!Download Now!
