Joy is originally from the Central Valley of California, where she was raised on a farm and discovered her love for growing things. As the mother of a blended family of 7 adults and the grandmother of 9, she's learned many lessons about supporting the growth of people. After returning to school later in life, Joy obtained her MBA and spent many years working with companies to develop partnerships and other relationships. While she enjoyed this pursuing this part of her personality, she found herself constantly being drawn to assisting others who found themselves in a crisis or life transition. After the tragic loss of her oldest son, Joy decided not to allow this calling toward counseling and therapy to remain stagnant. While searching for a place to utilize her skills while she returned to school for a Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling, she found a company that provided therapy services to children and joined as a Direct Therapist.
After experiencing the victories that therapy brought to children and families, she knew this was where she would continue her career path. Joy joined BPI in 2019 and helped to expand our services into Central Illinois, working in development, marketing, and community engagement. Now as a Graduate Clinical Counselor, Joy offers counseling services to parents and individuals. Her goal is to offer a path of healing in emotional health or assistance in navigating times of transition and change.
Joy is energized by removing obstacles and helping others to do this in their lives. BPI provides her with that opportunity every day.
